This class is suitable for all yoga practictioners. We will take the time to teach, breakdown, and integrate the 8 limbs of ashtanga to make the poses and other aspects of practice accessable for everyone.
Primary Series Ashtanga
In this class one of our experienced ashtanga teachers leads the entire primary series of ashtanga as traditionally passed down for many generations. A fulfilling balancing class perfectly balancing body, mind and soul. Taught in the tradition of sri k. Pattabhi jois of mysore, india. This flowing, set, sequence of postures utilizes ujjayi breath and bandhas (energy locks) to increases muscular strength, flexibility, concentration, and to deepen one’s connection to self.
Silent Primary Series Ashtanga

A fulfilling balancing class perfectly balancing body, mind and soul. The difference is it is lead by example with no queueing. Taught in the tradition of sri k. Pattabhi jois of mysore, india. This flowing, set, sequence of postures utilizes ujjayi breath and bandhas (energy locks) to increases muscular strength, flexibility, concentration, and to deepen one’s connection to self.
Ashtanga Short Form
Ashtanga yoga is an ancient system of yoga that was brought to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Sun Salutations prepare the body for a series of standing, seated and lying down Asanas (poses). This practice produces intense internal heat and sweat to detoxify the entire body.
What Is Mysore-Style Ashtanga Yoga?
Upon walking into a mysore-style ashtanga yoga class, the first thing you may notice is it seems chaotic. Here’s one student doing a headstand in the corner, while another is reaching into the triangle posture and a third is struggling to balance on her arms. What is going on here? Yet if you watch long enough, you will notice a pattern emerging. Everyone seems to be on a path, following a precise choreography. Also, compared to other yoga classes, the silence is striking. Occasionally the teacher will whisper something as they move swiftly from student to student, giving adjustments as appropriate. But the dominant sound is deep meditative breath. Yoga soul loves the mysore approach. Yet we know that not everyone is ready to begin a mysore style practice. We will assist you to ensure you have an enjoyable experience. Please find below our solutions to meet each individual where they are and help them to understand this practice style can be for every one. If you have an existing mysore practice you are welcome to drop in for a morning class held each weekday. If you do not have an existing mysore style practice but would like to start, we recommend one of two options. The first option is to start by attending on of the intro to mysore style workshop that we offer on a regular basis (please check current listing). This will properly prepare you for attending mysore influenced classes. The other option is to plan to quietly come and observe the class any morning for 1/2 hour. This is free and will give you a better sense of the class and how it works. Having observed the class for this time you decide if you would like to commit to a week of practice. The teacher can arrange a start time with you either that day or another that is convenient for you.
